The oddly-named Spanish Waltz is one of my favorite English country dances, with its slow, gentle rhythm and graceful wheeling steps. A stately, formal dance, it inspired this cardigan’s fan and leaf lace motifs. The cropped length is perfect for layering over fancy dresses or sweeping skirts, while the scalloped collar and the contrasting ribbed cuffs and hem elevates it to special-occasion status. Knit in sport-weight yarn, it’s substantive enough to keep you warm but still light enough for evening wear, and it’s a quick knit too!

Pattern has been tech edited and tested. Lace is charted only.
