Stuffing
- Fiberfill

Wire

  • 16- or 18-gauge galvanized steel wire (available online or at any local hardware store)

Stuffing Tool
- I use a Chopstick roughened at both ends with a bit of sandpaper or wound with masking tape to create a semi-rough surface.

Tape
- Masking or Electrical Tape (I like electrical tape because it is more flexible and has/creates a smoother surface.)

Notes

  • Please read through the entire pattern before beginning so the pattern progression makes sense in relation to each part and the finished figure.
  • This pattern uses standard US crochet terminology.
  • The total number of stitches for each row is indicated in parentheses at the end of each row instruction.
  • The Head (including the Eyes, Ears, Nose, and Whiskers) is assembled first, followed separately by the rest of the Body and Legs. This is to minimize the amount of unnecessary pulling/stretching between the head and body that would occur if the facial details were added after attaching the Head to the Body.
  • The Web pattern stops at 11 rows, but you can make it as small/large as you would like using a ch 3 increase between each qc for each additional row.
  • In addition to different colors of yarn, this pattern uses two different textures of worsted weight yarn to create tactile variety.
  • Make sure to place a stitch marker in the first stitch of each row so as not to lose your place. I’ve decided to not to do this so many times and always regretted it!
  • The yarn color palate is ONLY a suggestion. Your Spider-Cat should be any color(s) YOU want!
