The top is knitted as a rectangle, meaning the bust and waist measurements are the same when laid flat. This top is designed with negative ease, meaning it will be smaller than your actual body measurements and stretch to fit snugly. To achieve the best fit, choosing a size where the bust measurement is 2-4 cm smaller than your own bust circumference is recommended. This ensures a close-fitting and flattering look, as the material will give with wear.

For this project, you will need two different types of yarn. One color will be used as Color A, which makes up most of the sweater. Color B is your ’Spine’, the stripe running down the center of the sweater. Color A should ideally be an elastic yarn, as the sweater is designed with negative ease and needs to stretch. Below are some yarn types with good elasticity. Color B for the spine stripe should be thicker than Color A—this helps create a slight ‘V’ shape in the center after blocking.

Yarn Weight Recommendations:
Color A: Use 1 strand of aran/worsted weight yarn.
Color B: Use 1 strand of bulky/chunky weight yarn.
