This cowl is worked in the round from larger outer edge into the smaller neck edge. This means casting on a lot of stitches but from there on the pattern flows easily.

The pattern stitch creates a three dimensional fabric. You can see through the spiral ridges, even from the side.

Options for the length of the cowl and the size of the neckline are included. The pattern tells you when to try on the cowl and decide which version will work best for you and the yarn you are using.

April 2019: A larger cowl has been added to the pattern.

In addition, there is now a separate document that shows how to create a double Spiral Cowl with two yarns.

Errata: The April 2019 version of the pattern is missing P1 which needs to be worked at the end of Round 3 of Section 1: 9-stitch Pattern Repeat, after P2tog and before moving the marker.
