SPLEODAR
{splo-dar} Irish: cheer, vivacity.

Too cold for a party frock? Knit up a cozy party yoke! This festive pullover design came about
from needing suitable attire for winter get-togethers in unheated spaces.

Depending on the
colours used and the amount of contrast, the motif can resemble bouncing baubles, flickering candles, winter berries, or even an intricate lace collar. It’s a winter holiday Rorschach test of sorts. And regardless of what you perceive the motif as being, the ‘wow factor’ is high. If you need a sophisticated look that will keep you cozy in a cold climate, Spleodar is exactly that.

NOTE: There are now three (3!) versions of the pattern included within this one purchase:
(1) an Aran weight version
(2) a DK-weight version
(3) a fingering-sport weight version
The latter of these also includes children’s sizes.

CHILDREN’S SIZES

The fingering-sportweight version of this pattern includes 4 toddler/ children’s sizes, measuring as follows around chest circumference:
62cm/ 24.75”, 67cm/ 27”, 75cm/ 30”, 86cm/ 34.5”

If you require a smaller size (i.e. for a baby), I suggest using fingering weight yarn, altering the gauge to 25 or 26 sts per 10cm, and following instructions for the smallest size

…………………..…………………..

Note on going heavier than the Aran-weight gauge:
If you wish to use a yarn that calls for a gauge heavier than stated for the Aran-weight version of the pattern, be aware that the smallest size you can knit is approximately 100cm chest circumference. Anything smaller, and the chart will be too long for the yoke. This cannot be modified without compromising the design.
