Oversized chunky-look tee with an open back and a tie at the neckline - Difficulty: Intermediate.

ABOUT THE PROJECT
Splitback Tee is designed to be chunky and have an oversized fit. The tee has a long slit in the back, which is tied together around the neck using ribbon to create a bow. The tee is worked from the bottom and up in rounds using raglan decreases to sculpt the yoke. Start off working a ribbed edge using circular needles 8 mm | US 11, followed by changing to circular needles 10 mm | US 15, which the rest of the tee is worked using (except the neckline). On the middle of the back piece, split the work into two.

After the split, the tee is worked back and forth using stockinette st (st st) working k sts on the right side and purl sts on the wrong side. The sleeves are worked separately and hereafter combined with the body using raglan decreases.

When the yoke is done, pick up sts along the neck edge. The neckline is later folded in half. Pick up sts along the slit in the back using your crochet hook. Crochet an edge using double crochet sts. Attach the ribbon to the opening of the folded neckline to ensure that it stays in place when used.
