These adorably spooky spoods are a joy to knit and will brighten your spooky season while being a nod to nature for any and all seasons!

These socks are written for top-down construction with traditional heel flap and gusset. I knit mine using dpn’s so the pattern is written for that, but you are welcome to use any type of circular knitting alternative you prefer. You are also welcome to knit these socks toe-up, just remember to flip the chart upside down.

Pattern Gauge: 40 sts and 48 rounds per 4 inch (10 cm) st st on US 1 (2.25 mm) needles

Small: (64 sts around) for 6.5-7.5 inch (15-19 cm) ankle circumference
Medium: (72 sts around) 7.5-8.5 inch (19-21.5 cm) ankle circumference
Large: (80 sts around) 8.5-9.5 inch (21.5-24 cm) ankle circumference

70-130 grams fingering sock yarn in main color
15-20 grams fingering sock yarn in contrast color

~ Knitting with two colors
~ Catching floats in both main and contrast colors
~ Knit (K)
~ Purl (p)
~ Slip stitch (s)
~ Knit 2 together (k2tog)
~ Slip, slip, knit (SSK) worked as follows: slip one stitch as if to knit slip a second stitch as if to knit, knit these two slipped stitches together through the back loop
~ Kitchener or 3-needle bind off
