When we have passed Winter Solstice, and the days are getting a bit longer day by day I start dreaming about spring! I dream about the vibrant colors, the sun that will give some warmth, the tulips, the birdsong…. And even if I cannot wear anything short-sleeved in a long time yet I wanted to make a pullover for spring! Like that the sunny days seems a bit closer, and I can welcome spring any day!
As interesting in the back as in the front, I knitted my feminine, soft and eyecatching “Spring can come!” pullover in the simplest possible way; on ciruclar needles and bottom-up. Sleeves are worked in the round seperately, and joined with the body for raglan-shaping. Decreases are made to make a soft neckline, stiches are picked up and the twisted-stich-patterned yoke is made in the round with regular decreases for further shaping. The back is slightly longer than the front; this is achieved by short-rows. The body is also shaped for waist and back to give a soft, feminine line.
I used the “Silk Blend” from Manos del Uruguay to make my pullover - a gourgeously soft blend of merino and silk, as I wanted some protection against unpredictable chill.
You might use another wool, as long as you respect the gauge.
