The “Spring Wind” crescent-shaped lace shawl was inspired by a unique Hungarian folk song that has preserved its mood and meaning across generations. Through the awakening of nature, the song tells of human emotions: love, choice, and the uncertainty that comes with them. Just as the spring wind melts the snow and ice, blows away the remnants of winter, and swells the streams and rivers to bring new life to nature, the person singing in the song also faces the fateful questions of their own heart. The lightness of the green ribbon and the weight of the veil represent the delicate balance between joy and sorrow.

Spring Wind is an crescent shaped lace shawl with deliciously simple elements. It’s knitted with fingering weight yarn in easy-to-memorise patterns.

You can easily adjust the size and make the shawl as big or small as you want. You can alternate between the garter stitch section and the large openwork slip stitch lace pattern as long as you like, finishing the shawl with the garter stitch section.

Yarn
Two skeins Regia Premium Silk (55% Wool, 25% Polyamide , 20% Silk; 400 m (437 yards) / 100 g). Shown in colourway 02. Or approximately 780 m / 853 yards of similar Fingering weight yarn.

Needle
Size 4 mm / US 6 circular needle, 100 cm / 40 inch long.

Notions
Tapestry needle.
Blocking wires and T-pins are recommended for best results.

Gauge
22 stitches and 28 rows = 10 cm / 4 inches in lace stitch on US 6 / 4 mm needles after blocking.

Finished Measurements
Approximately 210 cm / 82,6 in (top edge) x 60 cm / 23,6 in (depth), after blocking.
