The Spruce Grouse Cowl was inspired by the comfort found in being surrounded by tall evergreens in a lush west coast forest. Though this cowl is knit in just one colour, the different textures make this cowl comfortable and cozy with subtle visual interest.

This cowl is knit in the round from the bottom up using ribbing, stockinette, and my version of elongated chevron stitch (including both a chart and written directions); all combinations of simple knit and purl stitches.

FINISHED DIMENSIONS
21” (52 cm) circumference and 10” (25 cm) tall

YARN
Approximately 175 yards/160 meters (80g./2.3 oz) worsted weight yarn

NEEDLES
US #8 (5.0 mm) 16-20” circular needles

GAUGE
18 sts and 21 rows/rounds = 4”/10cm square in pattern
