Gauge: (gently stretched) 14sts x 24rows = 10x10cm 4x4inches in 3x3 ribbing on 4.0 mm US 6 needles.
Caution! Your row gauge is more important in this pattern.
If your row gauge is correct but you are off by several stitches - consider working smaller or bigger size of the hat.
If your stitch gauge is correct but your row gauge is off - subtract or add some length to the brim before starting cables.
