Last year I wanted to find an enjoyable way to use some handspun and deep-stash yarn and invited the members of my Facebook Group to join me on the journey. They knew I would be experimenting and making the shawl up as we go so even I had no idea what the final product would be. We had a bit of fun together and after we finished I created a 4ply version of the outcome as well.

This year I’ll be creating both fingering weight (Sunshine) and DK/Worsted (Squish) patterns simultaneously and since the group has requested a crescent shawl with cables and lace that’s what we will be aiming for. They will both begin the same way and feature similar elements but will likely end up as different patterns so please keep that in mind and use the download code WHACKY18 to get both patterns.

I have started a Whackalong MKAL thread in my Ravelry Group: here for both Squish and Sunshine so that we can all knit our shawls together. Please join us!

DATES (always between 9pm-midnight Sydney since we are in an early timezone)

MKAL will run from 21 November 2018 to 31 January 2019 to give people plenty of time to finish.

Clue release dates:
1) 24 November 2018
2) 1 December 2018
3) 8 December 2018
4) 15 December 2018 (if there is a 4th clue).

Since this pattern is being created as we knit, some errors may occur. I keep track of everything reported and immediately post them in the first post of the MKAL THREAD so that as you are knitting you can check each section to make sure you don’t get caught out.

What to do before the first clue?
Go through your stash!
Decide what yarn you want to use and get your combo ready. I’ll be using the yarn pictured.
