Introducing the Stardust Cardigan crochet pattern by Knittybae! This downloadable PDF pattern features a beautiful V stitch design, creating a light, airy mesh effect. The made-to-measure design allows you to either follow the two provided sizes or customize it to fit your own measurements.

Stardust Cardigan is worked from the bottom up. The body is constructed in three pieces: two front panels and one back panel. The sleeves are then worked in the round, seamlessly attached to the body without any seaming required. Get creative by holding two strands of lighter weight yarn together to explore unique textures and mix different fibers. This pattern also includes two closure options: add a zipper for a clean, modern finish or opt for handmade I-cord ties for a softer look. Choose the detail that best suits your style and make the cardigan truly your own.

This pattern is provided in English and uses American crochet shorthand/abbreviations. Recommended Skill Level: Advanced Beginner and above. Pattern uses following crochet stitches: V stitch, double crochet (dc), single crochet (sc). This document spans 28 pages and includes instructive images to further help you pursuit your goal result.

MATERIALS:

  • CROCHET HOOK: 6 mm / UK 4 / US J/10 (+ smaller crochet hook for cardigan’s lining)
  • YARN: Fine (no. 2) held double or up to Medium (no.4) held single compatible with 6 mm crochet hook
  • SCISSORS
  • TAPE MEASURE
  • STITCH MARKERS
  • TAPESTRY NEEDLE (optional for weaving in ends)
  • SAFETY PINS (optional for zipper installation)

YARN RECOMMENDATIONS:

  • For this project, I mostly recommend using 100% cotton yarn. However, linen or wool yarns can also work well. You’re welcome to use blends too (e.g. 60% cotton and 40% acrylic etc.)
  • For the best texture in the Stardust Cardigan, I recommend holding the Fine (no. 2) yarn double.
  • Even if you choose to use a single strand of yarn for the entire cardigan, I recommend switching to a smaller crochet hook for the lining. This will create tighter stitches, helping to reduce gaps and give the lining a cleaner, more polished look.
