The Story Behind Your Next Knit
The Starlight and Timber Collection evokes winter in the Northwoods. Towering snow-encrusted pines, the aroma of wood smoke lingering in the crisp air, and billions of stars overhead on a crystal clear night. Gender-neutral, single and folded brim versions knit bottom up. Adult sizes Small (Medium, Large) included in the pattern. This project is perfect for the adventurous beginning knitters!
Quick Highlights:

-Construction: Knit in the round with stretchy cast-on.
-Special Features: Unique texture, quick knit, multiple sizes
-Yarn Weight: #5 Bulky or hold two strands of #4 worsted weight together
Sizes & Finished Measurements:
-Size: S (M, L)
-Approximate Finished Measurements:
The finished hat is approximately 7.75”/20cm (8”/21cm, 8.5”/22cm) wide. It is 8.25”/21cm to (9.25”/24cm) long.
Yarn Requirements:
Suggested Yarn: #5 Malabrigo Chunky (104 yds/95m per 100g); 100% Merino.
-Samples used approx. 90-115 yds (90-120m). All samples of the single brim version were made with one skein of Chunky. If making the double brim version, it may take a small amount of a second skein.
Needles:
US 10.5 (6.5mm) & 11 (8.0mm) DPNs or circular needles for Magic Loop method.
Notions:
Yarn darning needle, row counter, measuring tape, stitch marker, scissors, stitch holder, garment tag (the samples used leatherette tags from Angie and Britt, and Birch and Cider), pom pom if desired (the samples used poms from Sugar Maple Fibers).
Gauge:
Using US 11 (8.0mm) needles, 13 sts and 19 rounds = 4”/10cm in the stitch pattern in the round.
