The stars have aligned to bring you this beautiful afghan of star stitches worked in concentric squares. Repeat the pattern as many times as you like for any size square afghan. Perfect for a baby blanket in bright rainbow colors, or muted tones for a subtle effect with a light but intriguing texture.

This pattern can be worked up to make a 12” afghan block or any size square afghan. The designers notes include suggestions for modifying the pattern to have more star stitches or using it as a border to frame your work.

Use any size yarn and appropriate sized hook. Samples are made in Worsted weight with an I/5.5mm hook.

This pattern came about from the How I Wonder afghan block, which illustrates well how this technique can be used as a border to frame your work.
