Stone Fruit is a pair of simple cosy colourwork mittens. Knit in Aran weight they’re a quick satisfying knit that will keep your hands warm.
Using the same motif on the palm and on the top of the hand, the left and right mitten are identical, making this a beginner friendly project. The thumb gusset allows for a comfortable fit and the pattern gives instructions on how to adjust gauge for any size.

Yarn :
You will need two colours of Aran weight yarn in the following amounts :
MC : 80 m – 88 yds
CC : 60 m – 66 yds
Sample was knit with Yarn Vibes Vale Aran in Silver Birch (MC) and Plum (CC).

Needles :
4 mm (US 6) needles
or size required to get the right gauge

Gauge :
19 st x 23 rounds per 10 cm – 4” in stranded knitting after blocking

Size :
Finished circumference : 18 cm – 7”
Finished length from cuff to top : about 25.5 cm – 10”
Finished length from thumb position to top : about 12 cm – 4 ¾“

You can get a slightly different size by working at a different gauge. The pattern contains instructions to adapt it for any measurements.
