Stone Layers features a fun to knit slip stitch pattern, which is worked in alternating bands of 6 beautiful different colours of a gradient-mini-skein set and a contrasting main colour (easily adjustable if your set has fewer colours).

Knit on the bias, in an asymmetrical triangular shape makes it an engaging knit as well as an easy to wear, everyday-item to highlight your daily wardrobe.

The pattern contains all instructions as fully written out directions and also as charts.

I hope you enjoy the pattern!

This pattern was created in collaboration with Sunshine Yarns and I had the great pleasure to work with their Faded Gradient Set for my sample.

-asymmetrical, sideways bias-knit triangle
-length along top edge: approx. 235cm/92.5“
-depth: approx. 46cm/18“

Designed for a fingering weight gradient/mini skein set plus a contrasting main colour. Allow approx. 30-33g/111-122yds/102-112m of each CC (C6 only uses ½) and 341yds/321m of MC to get the size of the sample.
Yarn used for sample:
Sunshine Yarns Classic Sock (fingering weight, 100g=370yds/338 m), 1 skein in colourway Dark Charcoal (MC) + 1 Gradient Set in colourway Faded (CC) (6x125yds/115m=740yds/678m)

-not critical for this shawl but differences will affect yardage requirements and the finished size
-needles used for sample: 3.25+3.5 mm/US 3+4
-gauge on sample: 22 sts x 46 rows = 10x10cm/4x4“ in garter stitch after blocking

My testers did a fantastic job testing this pattern and knit up some amazing shawls, and I am so grateful for all their help and feedback! Find their beautiful projects here.
