One thing I love about stranding knitting is how stitches look like little hearts in designs. I designed this hat wanting to utilize this where it looks like hearts are floating all around the design of triangles.

This beanie is made a round on circular needles and decreased on double pointed needles. This means there are no seams and minimal finishing afterwards. The Fair Isle pattern is completed with two colors following a chart. Although combining a Fair Isle pattern with knitting in the round may sound complicated, I find it’s easier since I don’t get mixed up on the wrong side stitches. You just have to be careful about not to keeping the tension on the yarn too tight as you carry it along the back.
