The easiest cowl to wear and a fun one to knit! It all started when I combined one of my favorite yarns (String Theory Caper Sock) with one of my favorite places to knit with friends (My local yarn shop, String Theory Yarn Company in Glen Ellyn, Illinois)! Somehow having different pattern sections makes the knitting go quite quickly!

This is a medium length cowl with a circumference of about 45”, knit with 1 skein of fingering weight yarn.

Gauge is a bit flexible, but I suggest about 5.5 to 6 inches per inch, lightly blocked to 5 stitches per inch.

Most knitters prefer using one needle size for the whole cowl. If your ribbing is quite loose, you could drop down one size on one or both borders.
