About the Pattern:

Inspired by the delicate elegance of lily buds, this scarf blends ethereal softness with structured detail. The airy base is knit in lace weight yarn, creating a sheer, romantic backdrop that allows the dimensional lily bud motif, formed with variegated fingering yarn, to truly shine. The result is a scarf that feels light as air while offering visual depth and textural interest – a beautiful tribute to the fleeting beauty of blooming lilies.

Whether you’re dressing up a simple outfit or adding something special to your wardrobe, this scarf offers a graceful, timeless accessory you’ll reach for often.

Needles and Accessories:

  • 4mm (US 6) circular or straight needles (choose based on your preference)
  • Stitch markers (optional, but helpful)
  • Tapestry needle for finishing and weaving in ends

Yarn Requirement:
• Lace Yarn (approximately 650 meters / 710 yards per 100g) – hand-dyed by Teri Dow ( TheUngratefulWench/) : I used around 80g (approximately 520 meters / 568 yards) for this project.
• Variegated Fingering yarn (approximately 420 meters / 459 yards per 100g): I used about 20g (approximately 84 meters / 91 yards) for the project.

Gauge:

  • Lace Weight (with 4mm / US 6 needle): 6 stitches x 8 rows = 1” in stockinette stitch
  • Fingering Weight (with 4mm / US 6 needle): 5.5 stitches x 7 rows = 1” in stockinette stitch Note: Gauge is not critical for this project but may affect the final size and drape.

Measurements (After steam blocking): Length – 164cm and Width – 48cm
