This is one of a series of small knitted motifs which can be used as Freeform Building Blocks. This pattern is for a simple garter stitch mitre square.

Two variations are included in the pattern, one a simple garter stitch mitre square and the second for a garter mitre square with a decorative slipped stitch knitted spine and two choices of central decrease are described.

The size of the finished square is determined by user choice of stitch count, needle and yarn.
