This scarf is heavy on the bold stripes, but light as air and so cozy soft! Passione from Lang Yarns is a wonderful blend of brushed alpaca with a touch of nylon and elastane, which helps hold the shape of this simple to knit cozy wrap.

Finished dimensions 14” wide x 80” long, after steam blocking (see notes at end)

Gauge is not critical since this is a scarf, but to keep it light and airy you will need a fairly loose gauge. A loose gauge also ensures that the edges won’t curl excessively (they will curl slightly since this is knit in stockinette stitch). If you are a tight knitter, you may want to use a size 10 needle or larger. Row gauge is important to achieve the length without having to purchase additional yarn; you should have about 5 rows per inch. Stitch gauge will affect your width; 4-5 stitches per inch will be good. Remember, a long scarf like this will reduce in width from the weight of yarn once completed.
