This pattern uses “sizing” notation for different numbers of stripes, while the bag is one-size. For bags with 3 to 8 stripes (which encompasses most pride flags), the math is done for you, and if you want any other number of stripes there are instructions for doing the math and using those numbers in the pattern.

I didn’t follow a pattern and did trial and error for far longer than I should have. I got super frustrated throughout the process, but I loved the outcome so much I knew others would too. I don’t want anyone else to struggle the way I did - so I wrote up the pattern.
