This shawl is all about stripes. Knitting the whole shawl only in garter stitch stripes would be boring so I added moss stitch and of course stripes in it. “Stripey” is asymmetric triangle shaped shawl and is very easy to adjust according to how much yarn you have/ want to use or how big you want it to be.

It’s beginner friendly pattern.

Finished Measurements:
Sample is 188 cm (74 inches) long and 114 cm (45 inches) in widest place after blocking.
Materials:
I used Debbie Bliss Rialto 4 ply Extrafine Merino Wool Superwash in colours:
• MC: almost 2 skeins of cream- colour 22906, around 360m /396 yds
• CC1: 1 skein of olive green - colour 22032, at least 180m /198 yds
• CC2: 1 skein of lavender - colour 22021, at least 180m /198 yds
• CC3: 1 skein of sage green – colour 22037, at least 180m /198 yds
But any fingering yarn in 4 different colours will be OK. If you’re a loose knitter I recommend to buy 1 full skein of each colour (100 grams - 400- 425 meters).

Needles US 2,5 = 3,00 mm.
Other notions: blocking wires (recommended) and pins.
Gauge:
27 sts and 20 rows to 4’’ (10cm) after blocking.

Pattern notes:
Note that gauge is not crucial, but it will affect required yardage and finished size. Also, pattern is very easy to adjust if you’re out of yarn or you want to make it in different size. You can skip or shorten chosen sections.

Note for beginners:
In the pattern there is no information how many rows you need to knit, there is only information about how many inches/cm should be knitted in the section. It is because it is easier to gain gauge in stitches than in rows and I don’t want to give exact information to avoid confusion. You can follow the pattern and check count of stitches by yourself knowing that increase is done in each 2nd row.
