The name “Suddenly Rose” emerged not because of the design, but because of naïveté. Though I prewashed the bolder of the two yarns used in the sample, the dreaded bleed happened anyway. Without a vinegar soak or color catcher during the wash before blocking, the cream contrast color became a muted rose, while the bold pink-red main color lost a bit of its vibrance. Sad and disappointed at first, acceptance eventually set in — I embraced the happy accident and the resulting tone-on-tone color palette.
Suddenly Rose is constructed bottom up, has a triangular shape by increasing along the left edge, and includes a 3-stitch i-cord border.
