The grown up version of Dulce, this casual vest earned it’s namesake from a favorite chapter of “Little House in the Big Woods.”

The story tells of a late Spring snow falling on the woods of Wisconsin, which helps the trees produce more sap. This means more maple syrup, plenty of sugar and maple candy…and a dance to celebrate!

The sweet cable details, as well as the color of yarn chosen for my sample remind me of a fresh blanket of sparkling sugar snow.

This vest can be worn belted, with the collar up or down, open and casual, or fastened with your favorite shawl pin. Notes to add buttons to the ribbing are also included in the pattern.

Knit in one piece from the bottom up with optional waist shaping. Armholes are edged with an I-cord (knit as part of garment), shoulders are grafted and then neckband ribbing is picked up and knit for finishing.
