The pillow cover is knit in the round in simple stockinette stitch.

The cabin design is then added with duplicate stitch, allowing you to build a colorful, detailed scene without carrying multiple colors throughout the knitting.

Pattern Notes

Skill Level: Advanced Beginner

Construction: Knit in the round from the bottom up in stockinette stitch. The background is worked in simple color-blocked stripes, followed by the cabin motif worked in duplicate stitch.

After blocking, the pillow insert is placed inside and the remaining opening is closed with mattress stitch.

Finished Measurements: Approximately 11 × 13 in (28 × 33 cm) when laid flat before seaming.

Gauge: 22 stitches × 26 rounds = 4 × 4 in (10 × 10 cm) in stockinette stitch worked in the round after blocking.

Yarn: Approximately 350 yards (320 m) of light worsted or worsted-weight yarn in 16 colors. Sample shown in Malabrigo Rios (exact colors are listed in the pattern)

Needles: US 8 (5 mm) 24 in (60 cm) circular needles, or size needed to obtain gauge.
