Stay Cool, Calm and Collected this Summer!

I love the long, hot days of summer, but I don’t want to overheat as I go about my work. Enter this simple summer top which is a joy to wear - the fabric is so light!

It is knitted with one strand each of ITO Gima 8.5 (a fine cotton tape) and ITO Kinu (a silk noil yarn) worked together, which gives some lovely possibilities for colour combinations. Knitting with the two strands together is a breeze and the whole garment only takes two cones of ITO Kinu and 4-5 balls of ITO Gima 8.5.

The pattern is written in six sizes with the lengths being adjustable for a customised fit. The top is widest at the lower edge, narrows to a waist section, then increases slightly to fit the bust.

It’s straightforward to knit and a delight to wear.
