The perfect thing to do with one ounce of hand dyed silk hankies! you DON’T even have to spin your yarn!! Please see video below for step-by-step directions to make your yarn. You peel off a layer or two of the hankies, draft (stretch) it out to the thickness of yarn you’d like and KNIT. Fabulous!

This pattern is more of a recipe. Please use needle size that works for whatever thickness of yarn you create. I like to draft the silk fiber to approx. DK or light worsted weight, then use a size 8 circular needle in 24” length to knit a soft, fabulous, SUMPTUOUS silk cowl. So easy and such fun!

I don’t have actual yardage listed, as you use about 1 ounce (26-28 grams) and knit the cowl using up all of that glorious silk fiber. As much yarn as you make, you can use. One ounce should be enough for a nice cowl, finished size approximately 5.5” tall by 38” circumference.
