As I created this design and knitted the sample, I lifted prayers for the families living in the Ukraine. My heart is heavy for each of those lives that the evils of war are affecting so deeply. Please take the time as you knit this sunflower, the National flower of Ukraine, to send your own thoughts and prayers.

You can help support those living in that area by donating what you would have paid for this pattern to your favorite organizations, or by selling your finished work and donating those proceeds. You can also find patterns created by Ukrainians and purchase those directly.

If you’re unfamiliar with double knitting, this small potholder is a great way to learn this knitting technique. Both sides are the same, except with reversed colors. You’ll get the accomplishment of finishing a beautiful project and the confidence of adding a new skill to your knitting basket.

With this instantly downloadable PDF pattern, all the help you need to get started is at your fingertips.
This pattern includes written instructions, a chart, and links to video tutorials for the invisible cast on, invisible bind off, slip stitch edging, and I-cord loop. You’ll end up with a professional looking finished project that you’ll be proud to give as a gift or keep and put on display.
