When designing this pattern for the
HodgePodge Crochet Presents the 2016 Afghan Sampler CAL
my plan was to go for simple, simple, simple and I think I achieved that. I took the two most basic stitches in crochet - single crochet and double crochet - and made them work together. This is an incredibly easy, quick-to learn square that is perfect for a sampler.

Once the flower came together and I was working on the border, all I could think about was sunflowers in a garden window and BOOM, the color scheme was born! Using a plain join really ties the whole thing together as a windowpane, and only 9 easy blocks work together as a very quick baby blanket.
