for the bag
Hook size: T-shirt yarn: 8.0 mm.

  • Colors: There are no color codes for the yarn I used for the base of the bag. You will need yellow for the bottom and a light blue shade for the upper side of the bag. You can use whatever yarn you like.
  • T-shirt yarn: I used “Hoooked Zpagetti Solid” T-shirt yarn (700 g, 120 m) from www.hoookedyarn.com.
  • Cotton/thin yarn: You can also use multiple strands of a different type of yarn. When using Size 3 yarn, use 5-7 strands to achieve the same size as 1 strand T-shirt yarn.
  • Stitch markers: Optional but helpful for keeping track of rounds.
  • Yarn needle: For weaving in ends.
  • Scissors: For cutting yarn.
  • Optional: Lining fabric (to strengthen the bag), magnetic closure, or a zipper

for the sunflower patches

  • Hook size: 1.5 mm. You can use whatever hook size you like, according to the yarn.

  • Colors: I used the following colors from “Scheepjes Catona” from www.wolplein.nl: Yarn weight: Super Fine, Fingering, 4 ply, Size 1 Yellow = 249 Saffron Light, Yellow = 280 Lemon, Green = 528 Silver, Blue Nude = 406, Soft Beige

  • Yellow velvet yarn. I used Bernat Velvet Yarn #32039 Golden Moss Yarn Weight: Bulky, 12-14 ply. I used a 1.5 mm for the velvet yarn. Note: you can replace velvet yarn with any other type.
