This sunny hat is positively joyful! The bright yellow on the dark background emphasizes the sun on the hat. The mittens have complementary sun and moon images. The hat has a fold over brim to make it warmer over your ears.

The hat and mittens are written as one size but can be modified. As written, it fits around 21 inches in circumference with the depth being 8.5 inches. This hat was knit using Aran weight yarn. If you use another weight wool (eg. worsted) please check your gauge as it will change the size of the hat. The mittens are around 7 inches in circumference and 9.5 inches in length.

The pattern uses three colours but only two are used at one time in stranded knitting. The hat and mittens can be made using less than one skein for the main colour and less for the contrasting colours.

This pattern has not been test knit. If you have any questions, suggestions or feedback to make the pattern clearer, please let me know. carolasheartstrings@gmail.com or my ravelry username is Cbaker259.
