A double layer top using fingering weight yarn worked in the round. The outer layer is knit bottom up with a decorative hem, racer back and halter neck. The inner layer is knit top-down with raglan short sleeves. Layers are joined at the underarm and neck.

Outfit ideas
This is a fun, unique style which is super comfortable and easy to wear. Pair it with a long-sleeved t-shirt or a blouse with floaty, transparent sleeves underneath. The layers look lightweight yet, added together they are deceptively warm, particularly across the chest. The Sunny Halter looks great with jeans, trousers, flared or straight skirts. Jackets, capes and ponchos will look better when they are longer than the garment hem.

Basic chart reading required. Full written instructions for the chart, schematic, measurement chart, glossary of terms, list of abbreviations and extensive Fitting notes for alterations are included. The pattern has been professionally tech edited to give you assurance of a more accurate pattern.

Body shapes
The Sunny Halter is suited to many body shapes including lollipop, column, pear and apple silhouettes. You could even do a maternity version.

Colours
If you have broad shoulders, use a darker colour for the inner layer across the shoulders and a lighter colour for the halter neck. This draws the focus towards the centre of the body. If you have narrow shoulders or a wide waist, use a lighter colour for the inner layer across the shoulders and a darker colour for the halter neck.

The Sunny Halter is an ideal way to feature a couple of skeins of hand dyed or hand painted yarn across the shoulders with a less expensive yarn as the outer layer halter neck.

Advice
If you’ve bought the pattern and feel unsure about the colours you have chosen; post a photo of your yarn in the comments section here on the pattern page asking for help. I am happy to give you my opinion before you start. By commenting on the pattern, the conversation can be seen by other knitters and, hopefully, this advice will help them as well.
