This is a super cozy, fitted beanie made to look like knit with the use of slip stitches. The entire hat is worked flat using rows of slip stitches and the concept of “short rows” to create a neat crown. The pattern was originally created using a 9mm crochet hook to achieve a woman’s size. I suggest in the pattern to use a 10mm hook for the woman’s size to add a bit more size (I couldn’t find my 10mm when I started making this hat, so I used my 9mm!). The men’s and children’s variations going down or up a few hook sizes have not been tested.
