This warm, squishy beanie in Malabrigo Rasta knits up quickly and easily for a last-minute gift. Suitable for an advanced or adventurous beginner.

Pattern includes two sizes:

• Medium to fit 18” (46 cm) head circumference
• Large to fit 22” (56) head circumference

The fabric is quite stretchy and adding some extra length can help the hat fit a larger head.

Materials needed:

• 1 skein of Malabrigo Rasta
• Size US 15 (10mm) needles (use your favorite method for working in the round)
• Tapestry needle

Some of my favorite features of this pattern include:

• a cast-on method that alternates long-tail and German twisted cast-ons and looks great with bulky ribbing
• an easy-to-memorize slip-stitch pattern that breaks up color pooling and generally plays nicely with variegated yarn
• satisfyingly simple crown decreases
