This soft, squishy scarf in Malabrigo Worsted is a great project for absolute beginners. It includes a curated playlist of all the techniques needed to knit the scarf and features some simple design choices so you can make it your own!

You can knit the whole scarf in garter stitch if you want to master the knit stitch, or you can switch to a broken garter stitch pattern that uses knits and purls. The scarf pictured is knit half in garter stitch and half in broken garter stitch.

Finished measurements:
Width: 6.5” 16.5 cm
Length: 70” 178 cm - or whatever length you like!

Materials needed:
2 skeins of Malabrigo Worsted
Size US 9 (5.5mm) needles
Tapestry needle

This pattern includes a curated playlist of the my favorite YouTube videos that demonstrate all the techniques you’ll use to knit the pattern, including how to:

  • Do the long-tail cast-on
  • Make a knit stitch
  • Make a purl stitch
  • Switch between knits and purls
  • Join a new ball of yarn
  • Bind off
  • Weave in ends
  • Wash and block

I know you can do your own YouTube search, but I’ve vetted all the videos in the playlist for quality to save you a bit of time and hassle.

Your purchase gets you a PDF of the pattern. If you ever lose track of it, just contact me and I’ll send it to you again.

After purchasing the pattern, you have my OK to sell the scarves you knit. But please do not share the written pattern.
