I used Drops (Garn Studio) Big Delight 100% wool to knit these fabulous textured hats. It is soft and gives a slightly fluffy effect which is warm and stylish. However, any multicoloured Aran yarn could be used for similar results. A simple slip stitch and splitting the 100gm ball, knitting 2 rows in one colour then starting at a different colour point in the 2nd ball for the next 2 rows, gives a rich almost Fair Isle effect.
The pattern is written in 2 sizes: medium/slouchy and large/super slouchy and two textures: Pattern A is a raised texture garter slip stitch and pattern B is a flat stocking stitch, slip stitch. The instructions are clearly written with the large size in brackets where appropriate and Pattern A and B row changes easily identified in green text.
The crown is a fully fashioned decrease pattern. There is an option to simplify the crown by completing it in garter stitch only.
