You can of course knit these overalls as a simple, unicolour garment. But add a dash of creativity and colour, and they become so much more! What is your child’s favourite character? The short rows on the bum are easily transferred into a mouth, and using duplicate stitch you embroider on eyes and details. Use your scrap yarn to create contrast on the ribbing and fresh coloured stripes. The only limitation is your imagination!

I have added an attachment of diagrams to the pattern, which will help you design your own unique overalls. The short rows on the bum are knit in a contrast colour. There are diagrams of the mouth for each size, and you can then draw on your own eyes, nose and details.
