The Surzhik Pullover is a seamless model based on a Saddle-Shoulder design. The garment is knitted as a single piece (Front, Back, and two Saddles / Sleeve Caps) from top to bottom. Up to the level of Front neckline, knit in back and forth rows, and after it with circular knitting. After separating Sleeves, knit Body of the pullover also from top to bottom in a circle. Then knit each Sleeve separately in a circle from the underarm to the cuff. At the end of the work, a V-neck band.

The level of the pattern complexity is average. The necessary skills for knitting this design are:
– reading knitting charts (knitting charts are accompanied by a textual description; the video shows an example of knitting the deepening Back neckline based on the chart),
– knitting the stockinette stitch evenly, without fluctuations in gauge, regardless of the direction and method of knitting (in back and forth rows, circular knitting, and magic loop),
– increasing and decreasing stitches with different leaning,
– short rows,
– making the double bands and ribbings.
All necessary practical skills are detailed in the file of each size and shown on the video.

Gauge: 26 sts x 36 rows/rounds = 10 x 10 cm 4”x 4” in stockinette stitch after wet blocking. The pattern also considers two nearby knitting gauges: 27 sts x 37 rows/rounds and 25 sts x 35 rows/rounds in a square of 10 x 10 cm 4”x4″.

This garment does not provide much ease of fit, its recommended positive ease is 5 to 10% (from 4 to 10 cm / from 1.5” to 4”). If you knit with a stable yarn that does not have a knitted effect in the fabric (linen, cotton, etc.), the positive ease of fit can be increased up to 15% (to 15 cm / to 6”). The pattern is presented in six sizes; it can be used for knitting on a female figure with a chest circumference of 80 to 112 cm 31.5″…44″.
