The Swanson Baby Set includes a blanket, a little sweater, and a crown, the perfect knit to give at a baby shower.

The blanket is worked in a classic Old Shale stitch, an easy lace pattern. The sweater is worked top down with short sleeves, and simple increases and decreases shape the points of the crown.

A contrasting stripe on both the blanket and the sweater adds a pop of color to coordinate the set.

The sweater and crown are sized 0-3 months, and have the following measurements:

  • Chest: 17.25” buttoned
  • Length from back neck to hem: 8.75”
  • Length from underarm to hem: 5”
  • Crown circumference: 12” (approx. 2-3” negative ease)
  • Crown height: 2”

The blanket measures 24” wide and 30” long.

You will need 600 yards of Color A, and 200 yards of Color B. The sample shown is worked in Shaela Heather (Color A) and Petal (Color B).

You will need US size 8 (5mm) needles: 32” circular for the blanket and 20” circular for the sweater. The 32” circular can be used for all three items if you are comfortable using a long cable for the smaller pieces.

The sweater is worked seamlessly from the top down, and the crown is worked flat and the edges sewn together.
