Sweater Weather Fingerless Mittens are a stranded colorwork design featuring cozy sweaters, corrugated ribbing, and a side gusset thumb. The design will work with either light on dark or dark on light as long as there is enough contrast in your colors. The left and right mittens are identical, so you can knit them two at a time.

The pattern was released in 7 installments (2 clues per week – on Wednesdays and Sundays).

Materials
• US Size 0 (2mm) set of dpns or circular needles (for Magic Loop method)
• Fingering weight yarn - 231y/50 g (211m/50g). About 35g of each background and contrast color

Notes
1. Size: The mitts start with 60 stitches. The number of stitches is then increased to 64 after the ribbing. In round 33, increases for the thumb start, and the number is increased to 83 stitches, after which it is reduced back to 64. With recommended yarn, needles, and gauge the mitts should fit an 8” circumference hand. To make larger size mittens use larger needles.
2. Stranded colorwork: Follow the charts from right to left. Some sections of the design require you to carry yarn over longer stretches of one color. Make sure to catch longer floats using preferred method.
