Sweet November Cowl
I designed this cowl after my favorite time of year. I grew up in the mid-west and also lived in Alaska. I am definitely a cold weather girl, taking much joy in wearing and making hand knits. Joy to the wool! It keeps you warm and cool. I love the stark differences in late October and November. Think; gray skies, birch trees, Canadian geese flying overhead towards their southerly winter grounds. Crisp mornings and the sweet smell of wood smoke.
For an advanced beginner, this cowl pattern is a delight to knit and wear. It’s long enough to pull up over your head if you forget your hat or softly snuggled around your neck. The color-work is easy to follow with a 12 stitch repeat. You’ll need to know how to change color and carry floats.
Adult sized but easily customizable to make either longer or shorter. Knit in the round on a 24 inch circular needle.
2 skeins of Knit Picks Wool of the Andes and 1 skein of Plymouth Gina for the black version. I skein of Cascade 220 worsted for the navy version. Pink is from a random seller at a fiber show. Any contrasting worsted yarn will work fine.
