SWEETHEART
Sweetheart is an Icelandic lopapeysa gone Valentine’s day! It features a number of hearts with a classic Nordic seamless construction. The pattern is adapted to two different types of wool yarn - the yarn from the Swedish minimill Solkustens Spinnverkstad, as well as the Icelandic lopi yarn.

SOLKUSTENS SPINNVERKSTAD
The Swedish company Solkustens Spinnverkstad produces a lovely yarn of natural dyes from Swedish wool. The yarn is made from different Swedish sheep breeds, such as the Gotland sheep. To order yarn, check out Solkustens-spinnverkstad.com.

Solkusten’s yarn comes in several different weights, 1-, 2- and 3-ply. In this pattern, the sweater is knit from 2-ply yarn.

ICELANDIC LOPI
The Icelandic sheep has developed through centuries of isolation and harsh climate. This has resulted in a wool with unusually long outer fibres with tough and water-resistant qualities, combined with fine, soft inner fibers that insulate against cold temperatures. Added to this, the yarn is produced only with natural energy from geothermal power, which makes a sustainable production of a long-lasting and functional material.

The Icelandic lopi yarn is produced in several different weights, both spun and unspun. This pattern is adapted for létt-lopi, a 2-ply yarn. For more info, check Istex.is.

GENERAL INFO
The cardigan is knitted seamlessly in the round. Pattern and decreases are worked from chart.
