Szeptucha is a triangular shawl inspired by Slavic folk tradition, wild herbs and the mysterious figure of the szeptucha – a traditional whispering healer whose knowledge of plants, nature and whispered prayers was passed down through generations.

The design grew from this idea of old knowledge hidden in simple things. The raised lines travel across the garter-stitch fabric like paths, stems or traces of herbs, while the lace border brings a delicate botanical detail to the edge of the shawl.

Despite its intricate appearance, Szeptucha is a relaxing and engaging knit. Long stretches of garter stitch give you an easy rhythm, while the gradually appearing details keep the project interesting. It is the kind of shawl you can settle into and enjoy watching grow row by row – until the final lace border brings strong texteverything together.

Generously sized, Szeptucha can be wrapped around the shoulders, worn loosely as a shawl or bundled around the neck on colder days.

The sample is knitted in Pascuali Tibetan, a beautiful blend of 70% merino wool and 30% yak. The yarn gives the shawl warmth, softness and beautiful stitch definition, especially in the raised details and botanical border.
