Taffy Pull Poncho
Spring 2023 Manos del Uruguay Collection
•
Manos del Uruguay x Julia Farwell-Clay
•
In planning this collection and looking over the Manos del Uruguay palette, one can’t help but think of the kaleidoscope of sugar spun colors of the candy counter, the fun of choosing, and the dizzying joy of rainbow gobstoppers, pastel taffy chews, pink bubblegum and bright red shoestring licorice to cherish for what, an hour before they’re devoured?
•
Nostalgic yet modern, this collection is designed with entertainment and wearability in mind: each piece brings a festive need-to-have layer for those in between spring and summer temperatures in shapes of the moment.
•
Explore the options for marled or monochrome texture holding Cabrito and Fino yarns together for this layering piece full of fun and flirty details.
Please note that the stitch patterns are charted.

22 sts and 34½ rows = 4”/10 cm in main rectangle section of Little Butterfly chart using one strand of each yarn held together, after blocking.
Sawtooth border measures about 1¼” wide at its deepest point.
NOTES
The poncho begins by working a strip of the sawtooth border, then stitches for the short side of the rectangle are picked up along the straight edge of this border. The main rectangle is worked in pattern from the Little Butterfly chart, with a sawtooth border running up along the edge at the start of RS rows.
This project is worked with one strand of each yarn held together throughout.
