TAKT scarf
Knitting small scarves is my favorite way to unwind after a stressful day. For me, the whole secret lies in the stitch pattern itself - because the simplest of forms lets you focus on the pure pleasure of just knitting through the stitches.
TAKT scarf is an elongated triangular scarf worked in the Baby Cables 2x1 stitch - extremely easy to work cable pattern, which doesn’t require a cable needle!
The scarf is knitted from one narrow end to the other. At first, stitches are increased along the edge and once the desired width is reached, they are decreased in a mirrored way.
You can download a PDF preview with the most important information such as size guide, detailed measurements, yarn requirement, needles and notions in ENG and PL here.
Sizes:
The TAKT scarf is designed in two sizes. The smaller version wraps around the neck once, while the larger wraps twice. Both can be tied. You can also make a size in between to suit your preferences and the amount of yarn you have - simply follow the instructions for modifications included in the pattern.
Suggested yarn:
The TAKT scarf is worked with a single strand of superlight DK weight yarn.
21 (36) g Sandnes Garn - Cashmere
or
21 (36) g Cardiff Cashmere - Cashmere Classic
These are tested suggestions - any yarn of a similar weight will work just as well.
The stated number of grams refers only to the finished scarf and does not include the swatch requirement. You can find detailed instructions for modifications in the pattern to use up exactly the amount of yarn you have in your stash.
Swatch and gauge:
When it comes to the TAKT scarf, achieving the indicated gauge is not as crucial as usual, but it’s still worth checking anyways. If the tension you knit with differs from the one given in the pattern, you may run out of yarn.
Gauge, measured from the swatch knitted flat using the pattern stitch, on 3 mm / US 2.5 / needles, after washing and blocking:
10 x 10 cm = 34 sts x 37 rows

- Decreasing methods: k2tog, ssk, sk2p - video tutorial
All techniques used in the pattern are described there in detail.
