“When creating this design I was reflecting on what I like to
knit on a cold winter day when I am by the fire in my house looking out at the weather outside. I found I crave knits with rhythm and a little interest, not something that is so complicated that I am constantly referencing a chart or requires miles of stockinette.

I find I am drawn to knit projects in these moments that leave me room to chat or play a board game but that I can look at every few rows and admire the beauty I am creating. In this shawl I have included textures that fit this need for rhythm, interest and beauty (& leave space for board games and cups of tea).”
– Anna Hechtman

This shawl begins with a simple garter tab that forms the centre top of the shawl. A garter edge frames the design, with the shaping occurring by increasing with make ones. The design moves through three distinct stitch patterns, a quilted lattice, small cables and a leaf motif. A row of eyelets separate each section. The shawl finishes with a picot bind off.
