This pattern was free through the month of April 2020, and the response was amazing! Thank you for all the kind comments and feedback.

Rain is precious in the high desert area of Taos. Through much of the year we’re waiting for rain, we never know when it’s coming. We try our best to have faith that what we want will, eventually, come.

As this pattern is being published, most of our world is dealing with Covid 19, in some form of isolation or social-distancing, trying to slow the spread of the virus. We’re all waiting - for what?

Instead of waiting, do something you love, and if you love knitting, try knitting a Taos Rainfall. This is a fast, peaceful knit using one skein of luscious fingering weight yarn. The model (my beautiful neighbor Anna, a gifted ceramics artist, see below) is wearing the large Rainfall in bamboo as a mini-poncho (Theodora’s Pearls Auxanometer) and as a cowl in merino-cashmere-nylon (Zen Yarn Gardens Serenity).

Knit one for yourself and for a friend or neighbor or stranger and share the joy of what you love to do with your world.

The Auxanometer bamboo yarn is available at the Longmont Yarn Shoppe, contact them through their website, www.longmontyarn.com

Finished size: Adult S, M, L. This is loose fitting.
After blocking: Depth 13-14”; circumference at neck about 34/36/38”; circumference at lower edge about 56/58/60”

Gauge: in stockinette with size 6 needles, about 20 stitches and 28 rows in 4 inches.

Needles: 24” circulars in size 6 and 7 or size to obtain gauge. I tend to knit loosely so check your gauge.

Yarn & Yardage: 400 yards of fingering weight yarn; the pieces shown use one hank of
• Theodora’s Pearls Auxanometer (100% bamboo) in agave, one hank (4 oz, about 400 yd) OR
• Zen Yarn Garden Serenity 20 (MCN) in Monet’s Garden (100 g, about 400 yd)
