Target On My Back was originally designed and knit as a mystery knit-a-long. Now that they mystery is solved, all the sections have been combined into one pdf. There is an accompanying Novelette and that is now one pdf, making two pdfs total.

This knit has just the right amount of adventure to keep you engaged and anticipating what’s next, balanced with rhythmic sts that allow you to have relaxing breaks. You have a fictional murder mystery to accompany your knitting, perfect combo right!?

You will have a choice of three final objects, infinity scarf, wrap, or shrug. You do not need to make a final decision until Section 4. Instructions and knitting for sections 1, 2 and 3 are the same no matter what you choose for your final object.
This is a one-piece object, you will only do a small amount of seaming if you choose to make a shrug, all other options and knitting are seamless.
Section 1 has written directions only, whereas sections 2-4 have both written directions and charts. At times, you will need to be able to follow both. “T.O.M.B.” is suitable for adventurous beginners to experienced knitters.

Size:
The object is mostly rectangular with a length of 65” – 81” and a width of 16” after blocking

Supplies needed:
· 4 100g skeins of fingering weight yarn in different colors. One or two of yarns could be speckled or varigated, the others should be tonal/semi-solid to solid. Colors 2 and 4 need to contrast one another. You will not use a full 100g of each yarn but if you have full or nearly full skeins, you have more options along the way
· US# 4, 22”-24” needle, or needle to obtain gauge
· A second gauge size needle, double pointed needles or crochet hook for pinhole/disappearing loop co
· 1 BOR marker
* scrap yarn, cord, or stitch holder
· 1-3 additional markers (optional)
· Darning needle for weaving in ends
· 2-4 blocking wires (optional but hightly recommended for edges of object)

Gauge:
23 sts and 29 rows = 4” in St st after blocking, in the round and flat
Please note that while gauge is not crucial for this object, a change in gauge will change the size of the object and possibly the amount of yarn needed.
